Club Medical Kit

The club’s trailer is equipped with an comprehensive medical kit by Adventure Medical Kits and is located inside the rear door on the upper left. This kit is the Sportsman Grizzly model and contains supplies to treat the most common injuries, including penetration wounds from bullets or arrows, fish hook removal, splinting fractures, and stopping severe bleeding. Most importantly, it includes a book “Comprehensive Guide to Wilderness & Travel Medicine” By Eric A. Weiss, M.D., the most up-to-date information on wilderness and travel medicine. It includes: “Weiss Advice” improvised techniques; “When to Worry” tips; 97 illustrations; recommended prescription medications; medical supplies for extended expeditions; and information on how to use the components of your Adventure Medical Kit.

Adventure Medical Kits assembles many different kits based on use and number of persons it can support and can be purchased online or at many sporting goods stores. This is just one example of a first aid kit available. A number of other kits are available online or in many retail stores that would suffice. Regardless if you put your own kit together or purchase one already assembled, make sure you know what you have in your kit and how to use it should an emergency arise.

We also carry a snakebite kit, bottled water, and a fire extinguisher in our trailer for emergency use. However, these do you little good unless the trailer is near the scene of an emergency. We highly recommend that all members carry some type of first aid kit and fire extinguisher in their Jeeps at all times.
